Beautification
The purpose of the Beautification Committee is to inspire, facilitate, and promote beautification efforts and care for spaces and places within the St. George community.
Land Use
The purpose of the Land Use Committee is to focus attention and efforts around land use and development issues in St. George, particularly around waterfront areas and business corridors.
Membership
The purpose of the Membership Committee is to grow and develop the individual and business membership of the St. George Civic Association. The committee welcomes and onboards new members to engage with the wider community through the various committees and initiatives relevant to members' interests, and seeks to create a sense of commonality among the membership by providing social, civic, and quality of life opportunities.
Social Services
The Social Services Committee has a dual mission:
(1) to address poverty, neglect, lack of housing, and limited access to mental health services by directly engaging with the populations in need, and by partnering with community groups and official agencies, and,
(2) to create a conducive space for public participation in assessing these problems and developing solutions that benefit our community.
Ferry Riders/Transportation
The purpose of the Ferry Riders & Transportation Committee is to secure improvements and advancements for the 35,000+ people who utilize the Staten Island Ferry on a daily basis, and to advocate for rational and practical transportation services and development in St. George and beyond.
Media
The purpose of the Media Committee is to build and develop the internal and external communication and media capabilities of the St. George Civic Association.
Public Safety
The purpose of the Public Safety Committee is to help reduce and prevent crime, and to make the St. George community safer for all. The committee joins efforts with local officials, other civic associations and groups, and our local precinct.
